Jacqueline Fried is a sculptor, ceramist, and painter. She was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. Later moving to Chicago to attend the School of the Art Institute where she explored many other forms of artmaking.
Jacqueline’s work is derived from natural forms. The shapes and forms she creates are inspired by the beauty of the natural world. She will go on walks and take photos of what she wants to paint in golden gate park and elsewhere. She has also painted traditional still life’s and landscapes. However, now she is working on oil paintings of abstract patterns found in tree bark, rivers, and flower petals.
Her ceramic sculptures are based off marine life. Such as coral, barnacles, and the oceans waves. They are even more abstracted than her paintings because they are based off memory.
